Persian mythology guitar picks are not just tools for creating music; they are unique pieces of artistry infused with rich history and storytelling. One such remarkable creation is the Zaal pick, inspired by the legendary tales found within Persian mythology, particularly the poetic work of Ferdowsi in the Shahnameh (Epic of Kings). The story of Zaal revolves around a brave warrior king who faced adversity from birth, being abandoned due to perceived defects. Yet the narrative transcends struggle, as Zaal is adopted and nurtured by a mystical phoenix named Simurgh, who plays a crucial role in his journey from exile to reclaiming his kingdom. This deep narrative of resilience and triumph is encapsulated in the design of the Zaal guitar pick.
The Zaal model, rooted in traditional craftsmanship, is designed on our Shield base model, boasting dimensions of 31x35 mm and a thickness of 6mm. Each pick is carefully cross drilled and features brass tubelette inserts, highlighting the attention to detail in its construction. Made from ultra heavy molecular weight polyethylene (uhmw-pe), these picks are renowned for their longevity and warm tone, providing musicians with the optimal blend of ergonomics and durability.
Furthermore, we are excited to introduce Little Zaal, a miniature version of this exquisite design, crafted on our smaller Apollo (Jazz III) model. This variant maintains the artistic integrity of the original, while offering the same high performance and aesthetic appeal appreciated by guitarists.
Whether you are a seasoned musician or a newcomer to the world of guitar, Persian mythology guitar picks like Zaal provide not only functionality but also a story that resonates with the spirit of creativity and cultural heritage.

This might be the finest plectrum ever created. Period. Let me give a little background to substantiate such an incredible claim. I own many plectrums as I began playing guitar in 1991 and collecting guitar picks is something I began at the same time. I have played pretty much every material and UHMW-PE is the flagship material as far as I am concerned. I own many of the models that Kori has finely crafted & each Purple Plectrum has their own nuance. This one though is truly a game changer. The dimensions of the pick are in harmony with your strumming hand; think balance coupled with your grip relaxing. This combination relieves pressure from your hand while the heft of the pick keeps it in place. The metal inserts are something else entirely. Think of houses that were built of function plus art. When you hold this pick you will notice that the inserts add an extra level of grip. I never find UHMW-PE to be a material that slips, but the metal in this pick prevents any unwanted moving what-so-ever. The sound? Amazing. I play with flats and round wounds and heard zero pick chirp on either string type. Playing both electric and acoustic, the notes poured off of the fretboard. The esthetic...the Zaal is pure beauty. To say "elegant" does not do it justice. It goes beyond any preconceived idea of what a plectrum should look like and enters a realm by itself. It becomes an extension of your playing. This plectrum is above all others and I honestly cherish it.
I've just received my new guitar pic and it is sooooo cool. I've just started playing with it and I can't stop admiring how sweet it looks! Always a pleasure buying and playing these pics!!!
Keep up the great Job Kori!
